Cotter Bridge by Lana Trussell. This beautiful bridge is also known as R.M. Ruthven Bridge and the White River Concrete Arch Bridge which carries the traffic of U.S. Route 62 Business across the White River west of the town of Cotter, Arkansas in Baxter County. Construction started in 1828 with the completed and dedicated on November 11, 1930. The residents for months continued to use the free ferry system that crossed the river rather than pay the toll for the bridge. The bridge was in danger of being replaced, but the area resident protested, and instead a new bridge was built north of the area. U.S. Route 62 now runs on the new bridge. In 1990, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
I am a self-taught Oklahoma based photographer who lives in Mannford, Oklahoma who loves to be out with her camera. When I am not working on portraits you can usually find me out shooting at whatever interest me at the moment. I'm big on being outdoors and I love to travel to different places looking for beautiful landscapes, wildflowers, wildlife or quaint little towns. As much as I love to travel I also love to hit the back roads of my home state to see what I can find to put in front of my camera.
